Happy New Year everyone!

As Open Classroom parents, you will start to hear about the Spaghetti Dinner. There are many ways to participate, and if each of us finds ways to help, it makes it an easy and fun event.

Parents have often contributed services or gift certificates, or sponsored items like a BMX Bike and an iPod. Both were incredibly popular, but the bike was a one-time item. I’m reaching out to all of the Open Classroom parents to see if there are any hidden treasures or skills out there to donate to this year’s auction. Please read this and the list of last year’s items and let me know if you have any thoughts.

The Open Classroom is holding our annual dinner-dance and raffle on March 21. This event is a much needed fundraiser to help finance the classroom aides, and supports art, music, and other specialized education. Schools nationwide have been hard-hit by the budget crisis, and this event is essential to continuing our commitment to these critical programs that the district cannot fund. Your support is essential to provide the children of Open Classroom with the quality education they deserve.

Our prizes from last year are listed in this e-mail. If you would like to participate as a Weekend Warrior, Garden Goddess, donate something for the Dream Package for Mom, please let me know.
